Hospital Room Props and Furniture List
Researching into different hospital rooms, I have decided that I will put my characters in a private room. Looking at machinery and objects commonly found in a hospital room, I have created a list of props that I would need to design and develop.
- Bed/Chart
- Bedside Cabinet
- Photo Frames
- Bed Table
- Window
- Table
- Armchairs
- TV
- Heart Monitor
- IV Post
- Sink
- Toilet

Hospital Room Thumbnail Outlines
Based on my thumbnail designs I have decided to develop designs 2, 3 and 15. I really like the space and shape of thumbnail design 15, but the larger window in design 3 would give the scene a good, strong source of light. The corridor on design 2 would give the scene an interesting shape. I will now continue to develop the floorplan of my hospital room design.

Father/Daughter Mood Board
KEY WORDS:
- Love
- Caring
- Protective
- Fun
Words to remind myself of the feelings to show within my film, I want to focus on the loving and strong relationship between a father and his only daughter.
Sadness/Joy Moodboard
The base of my story has two strong emotional contrasts. The first emotion being portrayed is sadness by the father growing worrying for his daughters health, the second being happiness showing the strong relationship of the father/daughter bond in the flashbacks.
I created this mood board to show the visual differences between the two emotions. The monochromatic and lifeless colours can clearly show the depiction of sadness and the bright vibrant colours and joy of happiness. I have looked at a variety of people, medias and images that come to mine when you think of both happy and sad situations.

Final Year Story - Daddy's Little Girl (Working Title)
My Final Year Story
All 3D Scene....
A young girl 19 years old lays sleeping in a hospital bed with her father sat beside her, he sits hunched over exhausted and sullen. Softly stroking the girls hand. He sit's looking at her heart monitor, whilst trying to hold back his fears and uncontrollable sobs. He looks towards the young girls face, and towards the photos on her bedside cabinet. (photos of them together, only colour in the opening scene the rest is grey and white)
Fades into 2d scenes.
2D Scenes.....
These scene will start off in full colour, gradually getting darker and grey as the story progresses. (showing the emotions of the characters)
The girl younger than in the bed (around 4) runs over some small hills and jumps looking as if she is flying through the air. Her father (looks the same but fresher) catches her and swings her around. (Just showing a healthy young child enjoying the sun)
Girl (age 7) learning to ride her bike with the dad behind her, she falls a few times but he picks her up dusts her off. The little girls gets back on the bike wabbles and then rides off slowly. Quick shot of the fathers face looking proudly into the distance.
Christmas scene. (Age 12) Scene starts with the young girl getting up out of bed struggling to move quickly, even though she is trying really hard to jump up out of bed. (Two hospital notes can be seen on the wall) The girl slowly walks down the stairs. The father looks up, standing by a tree with lots of presents covering every surface. The girl tries to run and jump with excitement but falls, the dad catches her once more and walks her to the sofa.. The girl coughs but keeps her smile, she begins opening presents with her dad.
Bedroom scene (age 16) some time has passed, the girls bedroom is covered with calendars saying Doctors appointment. The girl lays in bed with her dog, as her dad brings food to her. As he puts the tray down he feels her head and runs to the phone. The girls eyes are closed.
Hospital scene quick. Pan shot of the dad looking out of the hospital room window.
Back to 3D
3d clock turns fast showing the progression of time.
He slowly comes back to reality as the Heart monitor slows down and stops. The dad falls to the bed crying. (fade to black)
Alternate Ending
The girl wakes and gives her dad a smile. (scene gradually turns to full colour)
End
NOTES - Show hints of the mother within the scenes. Dad not wearing a wedding ring, photos, small details.
